“There were people who went to sleep last night, poor and rich and white and black, but they will never wake again. And those dead folks would give anything at all for just five minutes of this weather or ten minutes of plowing. So you watch yourself about complaining. What you're supposed to do when you don't like a thing is change it. If you can't change it, change the way you think about it.”

I am a regular reader of your posts. I find your perspectives enlightening. Many of your quotes are saved in a small bamboo notebook I have had for years. I only put special ones in the notebook. Thanks! ~~ barbara

Here is my approach to complaining: Every one is given the first 5 minutes of every single hour to complain in. That's it. No roll-overs. you don't have to use them but you can't stack them up. Once gone you must wait till the next hour to complain again. It's 2 hours a day! Seems like it should be plenty. It works this way also: you only have to listen to complaining for the first 5 minutes of every hour. If some one is complaining outside of that time tell them about the first 5 minute thing. Tell them you will be more than happy to listen during that time period of the next hour. Maybe they'll be gone by then
