A Radical Change ~ Jon Krakauer

“Make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future."

  1. Hi Ray,

I thought to pass this on to you.It is John de Graaf, editor of Take Back your Time and
Carl Honoré, author of In Praise of Slowness. Here is the podcast description:
In a global culture dominated by the impatience of youth, counted in nanoseconds and fueled by “just-in-time” supply chains, everything needs to be done “yesterday” since today is no longer soon enough. Today we’ll hear from two individuals who’ve slowed their pace even as they’ve quickened their creativity and deepened their appreciation for those things that speeding causes us to miss. Here is the link : https://www.prx.org/pieces/73083-life-in-slow-mo#description

  3. Yes, Jon you do need to make radical changes in your life and climbers will stop making jokes about only roping up with YOU from behind so you can't stab them in the back. You are no philosopher.
