Wait in Silence ~ Margaret Fell
"My dear hearts, be faithful every one in your particular measure of God, which he hath given you, and in the Invisible wait in silence, and patience, and obedience, in that which opens the mystery of God."
~ Margaret Fell, 1654
I do love your blog. Lots of nuggets in here. We've both been reflecting on silence: http://radref.blogspot.com/2011/04/silent-quakers-noisy-anabaptists.html
The quality of Fell's words brings that German word 'gellasenheit' to mind. It's a key part of Anabaptist spirituality that was originally borrowed from South German mysticism.
